FKM O-Rings

FKM (Fluorocarbon) compounds, also known as fluoroelastomers, are thermoset elastomers that contain fluorine. They are highly suitable for general-purpose O-rings due to their outstanding resistance to chemicals, oil, and extreme temperature variations, spanning from -25°C to +204°C. Special formulations can even extend their low-temperature performance to approximately -30°C for dynamic seals and about -40°C for static applications.

Fluorocarbons typically exhibit excellent properties like compression set resistance, low gas permeability, and resistance to ozone and sunlight. Over the past five decades, this unique combination of characteristics has led to the widespread use of FKM seals in various demanding industries. Originally developed for aerospace applications, FKM compounds are now prevalent in the automotive, appliance, fluid power, and chemical processing sectors.
