EPDM O-Ring Features
- Excellent chemical, thermal, ozone, and UV radiation resistance.
- Highly resistant to water and steam <300°F.
- Excellent electrical insulation properties.
- Good permeation resistance.
- Fair shorter term resilience.
- Resistant to acids, bases, greases, phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, silicone oils, glycol brake fluids, cleaning agents, ketones, and brake fluids.
- Good compression set resistance.
- Good heat stability.
EPDM O-Ring Limitations
- Low resistance to tear and abrasion.
- Poor compatibility with aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons.
- Low pressure resistance.
- Swelling in certain fluids, especially aromatic hydrocarbons and some polar solvents.
- Not suitable for extremely high or extremely low temperature applications.
- Not resistant to alternate fuels, mineral oils, common fuels, concentrated acids, petroleum oils, non-polar solvents, halogenated solvents, and kerosene.
